I am very interested and have been watching the events somewhat closely. This is important because it will decide whether France will mend its ties with the USA (if Sarkozy gets in) or turn even further away from the USA(if Royal gets in). This will determine the fate of France's foreign policy for years!

Just so you know about:

Sarkozy: head of political campaign is the very nationalist former "Great Master" of the free masons. His N°2 sits in the trilateral comission and is a close friend from W.

Royal: Her brother is the french spy who blew the Greenpeace Boat "Rainbow Warrior" after Chirac´s Nuclear test.

Bayrou (3rd man) is the only one to be a real christian, pay attention to the environment, consolidate the EU, represent all of them and not only Paris and is the only one to allow rights to lingustic and cultural minorities

Yes, and I hope that the second round vote is between the Conservative and Socialist candidates but have a fear that it will be a repeat of 2002 (Conservative vs Extreme Right Wing)

Yes. The transatlantic relationship is a major issue in that campaign.

What stupid snarky comment are you gonna make about it?

Not at all - although at one time I used to be. However, the politics in the UK are now utterly dissapointing to their citizens this is what has made me lose faith in other elections.
