Anything that comes back year to year are called perrenials. What I would do is go to your nursury and ask for their assortment of perrenials. Also go on line and look for nursuries who specialize in selling perrenials and ask for their catalog or order on line. Their assortment would be very wide and you will find whatever you like. One annual I love that comes back year to year like a perrenial is called Snapdragon..they re-seed and they come back fuller and more colorful. Try buying a small flat of six and plant them inbetween your perrenials. The only problem with perrenials is that their lasting power is much less than an annual. I would buy some annuals, and inbetween plant perrenials and you will have a shower of color till November. Good Luck

I would plant re-blooming daylilys like Stella D'Oro. They come back year after year and it is a no nonsense plant that is hard to kill. It can be planted in all types of soil and grows in sun to part shade. Other daylilys come in different colors. You can also go to your local greenhouse and try other perenniel plants. I would also plant annuals for color like marigolds or in the shade plant impatients.
