Im a junior in highschool...when I first started highschool I had 3 friends and we said we wouldnt have sex until after highschool. Now Im the only one out of the group who hasnt had sex.
The girls now make fun of me for not having sex. Its not that im ugly. I was voted sexiest cheerleader at my school. I want to know why girls feel the need to hurry up and lose their virginity the first or second year of highschool.

I was a virgin until right before my 18th birthday...it's nothing to be ashamed of and most teens think it's just cool to have sex and makes them fit in..or they are making it up don't underestimate how many lies teens will tell their friends...Be your OWN person...the regrets you have will come from FOLLOWING the crowd not leading it...

Once they have done "it" they will of course attempt to make you feel as though you should. They will tell you how great it was and how much they like it, etc, even if they really do not believe it. They don't want to be different and they don't want you to have something they don't: their virginity.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with sex. But you will know when it is the right time for YOUR values. I had a very long term relationship, was in love, and did have sex while in high school. But I would have never recommended it to someone in a casual relationship.

When that relationship ended, I was in my early twenties. I did not begin to have sex again right away. Again, I waited until I found the right guy.

Most guys in highschool don't know how to please a woman, so most sex at that age is much, much better for the guy than it is for the girl. Yet the girl carries most of the risks.

I waited until out of high school. I was riduculed. Called a prude, a lesbian, a whore (that last one didn't really make much sense) but I stuck with it. And trust me, it's worth it. Don't give in to the pressure. Sex is so much better if you wait till you're mature enough to handle both the actual thing and the possible consequences (ie babies and STDs). Girls seem to think that "giving it up" will make the guy love them. Doesn't work. There is NO true reason for having sex as a high schooler. Everyone I know who did it regrets it more than anything.

It's not a race. You have my support for what it's worth. Don't give into peer pressure because they think it's cool to lose your virginity while you're still in school.

It is what makes you, YOU. and that is the definition of cool. Sex is fun and all but only with the right person and the right time and definitely not because somebody told you to do it or you weren't cool.

Good luck and hang in there. You're time will come with someone who makes you feel special and it'll all be worth it even more. Remember that first time will be always etched into you memory throughout life.

By the end of high school year see how many people are calling your friends slut bags. Or see how many times one of them cries on your shoulders because of something the guy they are sleeping with does. There are way too many emotions involved in having sex. So waiting is the best thing. And you're good for doing so. Besides not doing it says that you have good sense and don't succumb to peer pressure.

Who cares what they think of you. And really, so what that you were voted sexiest cheerleader (not that I believe that a school would allow that kind of competition in the first place). I think you just wanted to say that.

But if you are still a virgin (and you should be at your age), then you are not a *lut like the other girls.

Danny, your head is on straight. Keep those smarts about you. People who make fun of you are actually jealous because you are sticking to a promise made and to also being a person with values and morals. Values and morals never go out of style. I'm sure some of these people would just love to spread the gossip that you slept with someone. Don't give them that reward. I applaud you !!!

Peer pressure. These girls don't have a mind of their own. And, are very insecure. They go along with the crowd so they can feel like they belong. You are doing the right thing for yourself. Keep up the good work girl. Your future husband will respect you for it and you will keep your self esteem at a high level.

Well, I think loosing it before junior year is a bit slutty. I don't think you should have sex unless you feel ready. Don't rush yourself like your friends did. You will only regret it.
