You can't make someone do something, the fact that you don't understand this basic human nature is probably why you have the problem you do.

Does he say bad things instead or is he just not saying what you think you need to hear? It's best if you work on your self confidence and stop relying on anyone's opinion of you. Trying to change someone's style of conversation is tricky, and most guys aren't wild about us women insisting on it. After 14 yrs, it should be obvious he isn't the complimenting type of guy! Learn to compliment yourself - - much easier than trying to change someone else.

Back off and maybe he'll give you what you want.

He is likely upset at you for something you may have done in the past and didn't apologize for it.
Or he may have taken you for granted.
Talk to him and find out what the problem is.

You have been together a long time and its not that he doesnt think it but he takes it for granite that you know. Ask him how you look. DO I LOOK NICE TODAY and see how he responds

This means he is resentful of you or is angry at you. So what did you do in the past that he hasn't gotten over yet?

maybe he has gone off women that are up themselves and think they are gorgeous! because when good looking woman start saying how good looking they are they automatically bacome UGLY!!!
