MicroSoft Access is a good database program to use, but my experience with it was that it was not very user friendly. But I had to use it without any help and didn't have the whole user manual either, so it could just have been the situation.

Excel will also do what you want, and it is a lot easier to use, just won't give you nice reports if that is what you want.

If you have Microsoft Office, you have it already - Microsoft Access can do all you are looking to do (and more with reports and stuff).

Your other best bet if you have a website that can handle PHP and mySQL (or search for a place you can make your own mySQL databases). It's easy to create screens that can search for what you want.
