Well I disagree, the Football team is one heck of a franchise, but they don't have a basketball and the Pirates were once great but are now below average to say the least. Penguins are improving but they have a pretty bad history.

Pittsburgh can't be the "best" sports city. The Steel city doesn't have an NBA team, the Penguins are dying to leave, the Pirates haven't had a good season since Bonds left for San Francisco. 2 out of the 3 professional sports franchises are a joke, Pittsburgh is in no way shape or form the "best" sports city.

You cant really be the "best sports city" with out having all of the 4 major sports there...
The Steelers are a good franchise + + +
and Penguins are improving + +...
Pirates... down grade - - -
and no basketball mean - - -
plus I do like how every team has that black and yellow color scheme ++... except the Pirates Red alternate jerseys???? - -
Pirates are ruining it...
But just siting here thinking right off the top of my head... Detroit is a better city for sports... and I hate the whole state of Michigan... They have great franchises in the Red Wings, Pistons , and the Tigers just came on strong... their only down grade is the Lions...All four sports are respesented

Oh yeah, Im so jealous of Pittsburgh. They dont even have an NBA team to root for, their football team had a mediocre season, the Pirates speak for themselves, and the only thing I like in Pittsburgh is the Penguins, because of Sid The Kid. I did live there, so Im kind of hating on my old city, but I never did like any of their teams except the Penguins when I did live there. I live in Chicago and I guess you could say we have good teams (hehe, owned). I also root for Cleveland teams because I was born there.

How can they be the best sport city? They don’t have a basketball team, the hockey team is thinking of leaving, the baseball team can’t put a competitive team on the field and the football team well they are good. Next time you want to talk about a sport city actually pick a city with all four sport in it.

Penguins?
Name the NBA team?
Pirates?
Pittsburgh barely rates as a sports city. Besides the Steelers the rest are trash.

you're right. some people, like me, hate on the gayest (in this case) football team in the world. i am a BIG ravens fan. people hate on you because you quarterback sucks just because he got in a car accident. people hate you because you go from the best.... to the worst. and people hate you because you are not as good as the ravens.

Where's the NBA franchise?
Why did they Penguins have both feet out the door?
Why are the Pirates unable to compete in MLB due to poor revenues?
