I'd laugh... but decline. If a few minutes of conversation revealed a wacky sense of humour and no freaky character defects... I'd ask for his number :)

I have that happen twice. The first time was when I was 16 in San Francisco on a short trip. It was this nerdy looking guy, probably a computer guy. I had my aunt tell him "she can't marry you cause she's on vacation and will have to go home soon". The second time was when I had just moved to Boise to live with my then fiance. A friend helped me move and we had just finished dinner and my then fiance had to get to bed cause he had to work early in the morning. I and my friend and her friend who came down for the trip to help with driving went to a "bar". I had been dancing with this one guy and for some reason he asked me to marry him. He even had an engagement ring ready, I thought that was odd. I told him I had just moved down because I was about to get married a month and a half later. I told my fiance about what had happened and he said nobody is immune to your charms ! The end of the story is I did not get married.

in keeping with risk if the lady needed to get married by using twist of fate and that they the two sense an instant connection and chemistry... and might't their eyes faraway from one yet another, then certainly. there's a small risk... and now I could watch "my maximum suitable friends wedding ceremony" after those issues is over.

Yes, dumb.
I would have a real good laugh, and maybe go for a coffee with him if I liked him. Definitely nothing more.

this is exactly what id say...
"um, well i dont really no you, but maybe we could try to get to no each other or something, its just kinda strange cause i really dont know you, and i refuse to go out if you dont let me bring my brother on the first date, since he'll beat the crap outta you if u try to hurt me."

It all depends on the person. If he were trying to get to know me, and this was his sense of humor shining through, I would laugh and invite him to coffee.

I would run away screaming. And I would do the same thing if my boyfriend would ask me to marry him.

If I were single, I'd say, "Let's just play house where you live for a couple of months and then we'll decide".
