Teen Pregnancy is Genetic?????

I need some substancial facts that explain how almost all teenage parents have childreen who become teenage mothers

This is for my psychology homework

There are no substantial facts because this is not true. My mom was a teen mother and I am not pregnant. I am doing very very well for myself. I went to college a year earlier than my graduating class and am respondsible, and i am respondsible because that is how my mother raised me to be. Trust me, it isnt genetic. It is the environment.

there are no substantial facts about teen mothers breeding teen mothers. people make their own choices. my mom was 16 when she had me and i didn't have my first child until 27. however, the lady that lives next door to me was a teen mom and she has 4 daughters all under 21. right now the oldest 2 already have children. the third is due in July and the youngest is 15 and she was pregnant but had a miscarriage. it's not genetics. it's environment. trash breeds trash.

Try the national center on teen pregnancy. Look it up on the net. You will find lots of facts in Psychology journals. It does tend to run in families just as domestic violence. its a learned thing not genetic.

You learn from where you grow, but you can choose to take matters into your own hands.

My great grandmother had my grandmother when she was 19, my grandmother had my mom when she was 18, my mother had my sister when she was 17, and my sister had her first kid at 16...pretty ironic.

However, I'm 26, married, getting my master's degree and no babies yet. If you don't want to be a teen parent, you have to decide that and take matters into your own hands...that's what I think...

I think it's because their enviroment. People may get offended by this...but my grandmother had my mom when she was 15, my mom had me when she was 15, and my aunt (my mom's sister) had my cousin at 16. I don't know if it's a subconcious thing or what. But I can say that I saved sex till marriage and had my first child at 21 with my husband. So my enviroment growing up didn't effect me like it effected my mom and aunt.

You can't get 'substanTial facts' for fallacies, but:

i dont think genetics have anything to do with it. im 17 and due in two days. my mom had me when she was in her 30s. it could be that they think its ok since their parents did, who knows.

no facts on that one...depends on the person...my mom was teenager when she had me...i am now 23, and still dont have baby....i already graduated college too...
