I'm intrigued by the use of the name pebble in pebble dash, as pebbles are rounded.

Pebble dash is not rough what you have seen is called rough cast. It is similar to pebble dash but a different finish. People have pebbledash or roughcast to brak up the raindrops on the outside walls when there is heavy rain.

Pea gravel is smooth pebbles used for pebble dashing, the other is called spa which is rough dashing but still pebbles.

one is spar dash{rough} the other pea shingle {smooth}
