Our left front tire blew out today. The auto shop told us to replace the right front tire also, as they were wearing out from the inside. What might have been the cause? I'm thinking misalignment, but am not sure. We'll get the second tomorrow.

We were driving 35 mph in a residential zone. We felt the air coming through the inside of the tire near the rim at about 2:00

Your wheels are not balanced or alligned.. They are pointed at an angle instead of being perfectly vertical. In your case the angle is pointed inward to the car. That is why the inside tread is going away and not the outside. That is a problem for your tires not only because the tread is not being evenly used up but because the weight of the car is not sitting on the wheel properly. Take it to a tire shop and have the balance and allign your tires. Than will fix the problem.

it's not you have the alignment wrong it's because your front inner part of the tires are the closest to the engine and the engine prouduces heat, this heat wears the tire away. Have you had your tires rotated.... ever?

the car needs an alignment and there might be some bad suspension parts there too, you will find out when you go to get it alighned as they won't line it up if it has bad suspension parts.

miss alighnment and worn parts will cause tires to wear wrong, the only way to find the true cause is to have the alignmant and stering components checked
