I don't understand what Republicans have against France. What exactly makes them so repugnant. I think they're kind of cool.

Is this a trick question? The answer is too easy.
The French UN Security Council members were bribed by Saddam Hussein to keep voting "no" on military intervention, even though France (and the rest) voted on the sternly worded resolutions that called for military intervention in the first place!
This should have been the biggest scandal in the last 100 years of politics, but the Liberal press barely mentions it. (And the Liberal "mainstream" press thinks it is fair and unbiased. What a joke)
We are fighting the terrorists and insurgents practically alone because France (and Germany and Russia) got bribed by Saddam Hussein via the Oil For Food scandal. UN Security Members were given oil vouchers from Saddam's government, earning them millions.
France has no principles about selling weapons to anyone. They love their multi-billion dollar contracts. The U.S. at least has a set of criteria a country must pass before we will even consider weapons sales. France sneers at the U.S., but in the world political family, we are the exhausted parent, and they are the irresponsible, rebellious, drugged out teen who won't even make his own bed.
France.... I spit on your second rate chardonnay.

They require so much of employers in terms of wages, benefits and conditions that people just starting out can't find work. Their unemployment rate is typically twice ours, or higher. It also has a lot of taxpayer funded programs for the poor, paid for with a tax burden that prevents most people from ever becoming rich and that keeps GDP growth low - 2% is a good year there.
So, basically France is a textbook example of how we're right that the way social egalitarians keep everyone equal is to prevent people from moving UP.

We all know the deal France had cut with Saddam prior to the Iraq war.
Maybe it's the disdain they hold for everyone, up to and including the rampant anti-Semitism there today that is bothersome.

the Iraq War hurt France more than any other country other than Iraq. How?
France had just gotten some contracts with Iraq to get more oil than usual. That's why they opposed the war, no other reason. haha, that's why i don't like them, and their socialism... hahaha we messed France up bad by invading Iraq, oh the irony
EDIT: We haven't gotten any oil
EDIT2: we have gotten oil, your right, but less oil than we would have if we would not have invaded

You mean other than their whiney backstabbing? And yes, it started LONG before Bush became president. In fact it was going one while US/UK troops were in the process of driving out the Nazis.

UM.....how about giving bombs to terrorists to blow us all up? I don't know about you, but being bombed isn't exactly on my to-do list. And, we know that France gave terrorists bombs; in fact, we found it out when the war started. To me, that doesn't really make France my ally. It makes them my enemy until we drop a bomb on them and get rid of their two-faced, lieing leader!
