Her husband is one fat lazy slob.(literally) We met them 2 years ago when my husband &I moved in this new apartment.I am Asian and so is my friend and our husbands are americans. My friend's husband is always so nice with other people but He treats his wife so badly(in my opinion) my friend doesn't drive so she's always stuck @ home and whenever I ask her if she want to go out with me she would always turn me down so it always made me wonder why.Then the tenth time that I invited her out she turned me down again so I just confronted her and found out that her husband does not give her any money and when He does (and that would be less than $20 mostly) He would always asks her for the change.He included her name in his american express card but she can only use it for emergencies.He doesnt like her to speak her own language with her friends,doesn't like her to watch TV shows in her language & now that they have a child He doesn't like her too to speak with the child in her own language.

Well you can tell her to leave and get help. More than likely she won't leave and say but he loves me. She will figure it out one day hopefully. The best thing to do is still be her friend and don't give up on her.

Some Americans marry Asian girls because they believe that Asian girls can be bossed around and will do whatever the American man wants her to do. I know this for a fact. He sounds like he just wanted a wife that he could control.
Does she have her citizenship? Maybe you could offer for her to stay with you if she wants out of the marriage?

So basically he controls everything in her life and she is ok with that. As much as a good friend wants to, you cant fight her battles for her. If she cant see that he is mistreating her, then she has to live with that... and YES, it sucks, and all you can do is offer support if she ever needs it. But you cant make her leave him... even tho Im sure you wish you could. He's a parasite... someday she might realize this and need a friend. Just be there for her. Good luck

your friend is an adult, and she doesn't have to remain in that relationship.
while i see you care about her the best you can do is be supportive... if she asks for advice, tell her what you think.
meanwhile, wouldn't it be fun to go out and buy a new 'EMERGENCY' wardrobe and some nice shoes with that american express?

sounds to me like hes a complete jerk. But i think if your friend wanted help she would leave or she would ask your advice. The only thing you can do is just be there for her and when she askes for your help do whatever you have to do. Shes your friend.

your friend need's to dump his big fat *** and divorce threw legal aid and get on welfare till she can get a job and raise her child he sounds controlling
