The electron is the only part of the atom that is not connected to the rest of the atom because it is circling around the Nucleus. Thus the electron would be the most likely to be transferred. Probably the only part of the atom that can be transfered without the rest of the atom going with

Electrons orbit around the nucleus (proton/neutron) much like the moon around earth. Electrons are what actually flow with electricty.

thinking no person has somewhat considered an atom, no person somewhat is familiar with. yet while we flow off the concept that atoms are made up of a center of protons and neutrons with orbiting electrons and the electrons have a detrimental value. Then the respond is electron. BTW static potential is a detrimental voltage.
