i have hazel eyes and i find that a lavender looks so fabulous on my eyes! put it on the whole upper lid and blend a bit into the lower lash lid.
also, you can do the same with a sage green.
also, more a really pretty effect, take a lighter shade (even white) and blend that into the top lid corner to make a double look and its whispy looking! ttoally gorgeous for brown eyed girls!!

I have dark, dark brown eyes and either use Este Lauder purple (very soft looking) or I stick to browns. Merle Norman has a good brown one.

golds and greens really open up dark brown eyes, i would know i them, it looks so cute. bark eye shadows are good too, but try to avoid ones with the reds and always remember to blend that colors to make it better

MAC. They have the prettiest browns. I like browns with golds in them, as well. My favorites are..
Woodwinked
Mulch
Satin Taupe
Bronze
Goldmine
Gorgeous Gold-looks great on top of browns.
Sephora or MAC salespeople will do a makeover on you, too! They will flatter your face so I reccomend that.

try pinks or greens.... merle norman can give you exact shades for your eyecolor. a less expensive alternative is avon or almay, they both have shadows liners and mascaras for brown eyes, blue eyes, etc. check it out!!!!
