ive been reported to the dss for an apparent fraudulent claim. i have been called into the office and have had an investigation, for which all the claims were proved untrue.

I now want to know, is there anyway that I can find out who has caused me and my family this distress and upset

Hii there Helenj, I agree with what charley said. It must have been awful for you to go through the investigation, but you have come out still innocent. Whoever reported you must be very vindictive, and they will not know for sure that you were investigated. Dont talk about it to anyone and act as if nothing has happened; then it wont get back to the sad individual who reported you. They will wonder why nothing was done. Hold your head up high, smile and move on. Get on with your life and put this down to experience. Don't take it personally, the dss are only doing their job. I wish you all the best. :o)

sorry to hear about that!! its such a shame when you get people like this who have nothing better to do then mess up other peoples lives! they are pathetic! unfortunately there is no way you can find out who did it,it is usually anonymous unless you can think of some people who have a grudge against you..or...some nosey nasty neighbours!! usually those who sit at the windows all day with a pen and paper writting down every time you pick your nose, breathe, or even fart!

luckily they found out you was telling the truth and your money should carry on as normal..however i would be careful as they probably will do something like this again.
keep all eyes open!

I would write a letter enquiring about the source of information of the investigation and see what they come up with. If they are not forthcoming, follow it up and say you will be taking it further. Make enquiries: you may be able to take it up with the police, because it sounds malicious, so you can convey the distress you have suffered.

-not for revenge but for closure, by being informed.

I don't think it's important to find out who did this. It's more important to prevent it from happening again. Follow the rules you are supposed to, use your money wisely on healthy choices for yourself and your family, study to improve yourself by learning, manners, speech and cleanliness. Try to find people to hang out with who are honest and trustworthy. If you are busy doing these things no one can report that you are breaking the rules. As for reputation, trying to get revenge on who did this won't improve your rep. The only real revenge is to live well and become better every day. When you are proud of yourself and making positive choices, the opinions and actions of losers won't bother you.

At the end of the day (although you must have gone through hell with worry) at least all accusations were proved unfounded so it is you having the last laugh really.
