Well, of course I know what a Mormon is. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Church started by Joseph Smith. Angel Moroni led him to the tablets in upstate New York. The Book of Mormon is your main text...it is "another Testament of Jesus Christ" I am a Southern Baptist but I have several Mormon friends and I spent an entire summer in Salt Lake City in 1984. Went to the Visitors Center, heard the Tabernacle Choir sing, stayed with a lovely Mormon family. (I had a summer internship at the Sundance Theater). Lovely, friendly, generous, Christian people, the Mormons.

Whassamatter? You live in a closet? Of course everybody out here knows what Mormons are. They are members of The Church of Latter Day Saints. They are headquarted in Salt Lake City Utah and during the '70s were the source of many K-Tel TV record albums featuring the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
I'm not a Mormon, but I can say that I never met one I didn't like. Nice folks, generally. They're religion is a bit nutty, having been created by a screwball who conned his followers into believing he had the laws of God scrawled on gold tablets buried in his backyard. Later, he conned them all into moving to Utah. You have to be pretty persuasive to make that one fly!
All kidding aside. Mormons are usually great people. Their church encourages strong family values, and somehow manages to do it in a positive way. They're mostly happy, productive, maybe somewhat boringly normal people. They tend to have well-stocked basements with lots of freeze-dried food, in case the world decides to end before next Tuesday.
Their church is accused, sometimes, of being a bit intolerant of those who choose to be different, and of maybe being a tad cult-like. I wouldn't know about that part.
Many of the guys you see wearing white button down shirts and ties, riding bicycles on the side of the road are Mormons doing their required missionary work. That is, the ones that aren't Jehovah's Witnesses.
If you're all into the biblical thing, or if you just need something to put under the short leg of your kitchen table to make it less wobbly, go to http://www.mormon.org/freeoffers/0,17785,3708-1-2,00.html?src=overture. They'll send you a free bible.

That is easy. I do know about them because their church publications and information is not hard to get.
From a simple study of their literature, it is easy to conclude that they are false prophets and we are not to listen to them teach theology.

I have but what I have wasn't good and I think that some of you beliefs are kind of crazy. Nothing personal I just don't think that your religion is the true one.
