Canadian question: Does the rest of Canada cares about the elections in Quebec?

Do you worry about the PQ being elected or do you not care at all? Give me your opinion, no bashing necessary.

I don't think they'll get elected and even if they do Quebec won't seperate. They would not be able to suppost themselves and they would get the majority voting for it. The only province in Canada that could manage to support themselves if they where to seperate is Alberta because Alberta's oil money supports the rest of Canada

I hope the Liberals take it... Charest may be a fence-hopper, but he is the closest to a level head there right now! Yes, I do care what happens in Quebec, but that is truly up to the people of Quebec... not me. I do not want Quebec to separate, which of course, is more of an issue with the PQ. Yes, I care! I don't understand all the reasons behind the 'need' to separate... it feels to me like Quebecers already have more protections to their 'distinct' culture than any other cultural group in Canada (I'm aboriginal, so check out the irony there!). I do feel that we would be missing something welcome and beautiful if the PQ gets in... 'cause then... it's only a matter of time.

But that makes me wanna know something. How much to Quebecers care about the rest of canada?

Well, I think separatist attitudes have gone down a bit, so even if they are elected I don't think a referendum would pass as a yes. So I'm not too concerned. I'd prefer they stay, although I'm tired of them whinging about fiscal imbalance, they get more than they pay. But if they leave, that's their choice and who am I to stop it.
