WEP and WPA encryption are the easiest way for you to secure your wireless network. You can enable these within the router settings. Check your manual.

They are by no means rock solid, think of it as more of a lock on your door. If someone REALLY wants to get in, the lock will only slow them down.

There are quite a few ways to do it.

There is the standard security, WEP/WPA/WPA2. These all dependant on you setting a key and then you have to put that key on each computer. Downfall to that is 99% of the keys can be cracked in about 10mins with the right tools.

Next, you can use IP or MAC address filtering. Only way for them to get past this is by spoofing the address.

Lastly, the little things like stated above. Like turning off you wireless broadcasting of your SSID and/or possible setting all computers to a manual IP address and turing the rest off.

All in all security isnt all THAT important unless you truely live in a close community and next to that computer genius, so you should be pretty safe.
