It depends upon what your personal needs and interests are.

-Can you afford a fancy private school with a prestigious name, or should you consider a reasonably-priced public school that offers a similar quality of education?

-Do you want to stay near home, in the same state, or move far away? It may sound inviting if it's different from what you're used to, but can you really handle the conditions of living in the big city, the country, snowy mountains, muggy southern marshes, dry desert heat?

-Do you know what you want to major in or do with your life, or do you want a large liberal-arts university that offers a wide variety of majors so you can explore before deciding?

No one can really decide what's best for you here, except for you.

If you haven't already, visit a few choice colleges.
Some things to take into consideration about potential colleges:
Location
Size
Courses/Majors offered
Student Life
Student-Teacher ratio
Greek Life
Cost (if that is an issue)

Good luck in your college search!!!

I would goto public school. Those expensive ivy-league schools and private schools are not much different than public schools. Why pay three times as much when you can pay less and get same education. If you are in California, I would goto either UC Berkeley or UC Sandiego. Those are good schools.
