Dubai is basically: beaches, mall's, hotel and restaurants. In my opinion its an artificial city.

There are many attractions
you can enjoy driving in desert dunes, watch belly dance
you can shop, play golf, diving, visit theme parks, ski
you name it and Dubai have it.
