A Civil Partnership is very similar to a registry office wedding but you are unable to have anything religious ie readings or music. It can be tailored to how you want it to be. You can have your own vows and readings and music etc.

this is a registry ofice wedding, that can happen in any licensed venue.

the couple getting maried say the normal vows but obviously not in the eyes of god, there may be a bit of music then the signing of the register and thats it, you just go for pics and the reception after that.

its not as bad as it used to be an dofr couples who are atheist this is definately a better way to celebrate their marriage

The same things that happen in a religious marriage only with religious connotations removed. Vows are made, rings exchanged, papers are signed.

My husband and I were married at the local court house 8months ago. And for the people who say its not as important because its not expensive are IDIOTS! My husband and I are very much in love and it was one of the happiest days of my life. I think it was more intimate because the few people who were there were focused on us and not my dress and etc.

Same thing that happens at a normal wedding minus all of the expensive hoopla.

Not much. You get married by a judge, clerk qualified person to do the "ceremony". Cold, indifferent experience really...Hardly celebratory in most respects.
