I've got an offer to teach in the Dallas ISD but I want to make sure I'll be in a safe place. I have two daughters who study at a catholic private school in PR. Obviously, what worries me the most is their education and their safety. Any suggestions? I need advice, please!!!! I've heard horrible stories already. Is it too risky? Maybe I can live somewhere else close enough to the district... Does anyone know about an exemplary elementary school (4-8)? Thanks for your help.

As is true of all cities, especially large ones, all areas have problems. I am in a suburb of Dallas (population 135,000) located in the southeast area. I would have to say that the schools in the northeast, north and southeast Dallas are the safest. Good luck and welcome to Dallas, Mesquite, Garland and wherever you land.
