I would not. Your getting a Good-great catcher back but your Haveing to give him a Great 1ber a Better 2nd baseman for it. Iguchi is not very good and Wainwright is a decent pitcher nothing to brag about. So your doing this trade to upgrade at catcher (which barret is pretty decent) Dont do this trade.

Ask yourself this. Will Derek Lee give you more HR & RBI than McCann. If your answer is yes I wouldn't make the trade. You're upgrading at catcher, though Barrett is a good fantasy option. However unless you have three outstanding first basemen with Lee being the worst of the three you're hurting yourself more at first. Iguchi isn't bas at second, but Roberts is better. Comparable power potential, but more steals for Roberts. Wainwright is a good pitcher, but will likely be in the rotation not starting. Therefore there should be comparable free agent SP in most leagues. in a nutshell, you're hurting yourself at 1B and 2B to improve your catching. I'd either pass or counter the owner with a more advantageous trade for you.

Look at it this way:
Brian McCain vs Micheal Barett- Brian is better
Adam Wainwright vs Brian Roberts- Brian is better
Tadahito Iguchi Vs Derek Lee- Derek is better
Based on these, no I wouldn't do the deal. While you get an upgrade at catcher, you lose 2 parts of the trade.

No way, that's not good for you. Iguchi and Wainwright will probably be on the waiver wire soon and I doubt are owned in most leagues. Brian Roberts will get you stolen bases, and Derek Lee (if healthy all year) is a triple crown candidate. Michael Barret isn't worth much though.

I would do it. McCann is a top 3 catcher, and even gets 5 or so steals. Iguchi is better and more consistent than roberts. Winwright is a sleeper pick, and while Lee will do well this year, it is worth it.

I like McCann but I dont think he is enough to make this trade. A bit of a dice roll on D. Lee but if he stays healthy and Roberts plays to his averages you will come out better by rejecting this offer.
