Will Congress place a time limit or spending limit in the original authorization? Has Congress tried to stretch the limits of its power?

this was not a war, it was an invasion, we went into a country that up until that point had not killed an American, had not even threatened an American, nor were they a threat to invade the U.S! we don't really go to war, we have military interventions, where we send in troops and give them all kinds of rules of engagement, and tie there hands, where as the people we have these military interventions with have only one rule of engagement and that is kill them all.

Remember, Congress never declared war against either Afghanistan or Iraq.

In a legitimately declared war, with a defined enemy or country, it would be almost impossible to place arbitrary spending limits.

It is not Congress that has attempted to stretch its limits of power but rather the executive branch that has been accused of abuses of power.

We invaded Iraq and Afghanistan and are now occupying those countries.

It does not look like a war to me despite the insanely repetitive sound bites in the media.
