My hubby and I have a friend who lost his wife 3 years ago. She had a daughter from a previous marriage with a son , who calls my friend grandpa. Now, my friend who is 56 is falling in love with his step daughter. He wines and dines her, makes sexual inuendo's and she is going along with it. She just got out of a bad relationship and he has taken her under his wing. Now he wants to get a house that they can share. Personally I think she is using him. How do I tell him how I feel? One of our other friends voiced her opinion and now he is not speaking to her.

She's on rebound and not emotionally ready for another relationship so she is enjoying his comfort to her pain. Some people just want to take care of others and your friend sounds like he is like that. He should not have moved on her until she was over the previous relationship. They are both using each other right now for comfort and companionship/he just lost his wife not too long ago. Let them live their own lives. They are adults. Sounds like they needed comforting or they wouldn't have gotten together. If it was meant to be it was meant to be.

how about "hey friend, I know that this was brought up to you before and you and Betty Jo don't talk much now, but we love you and are willing to take that chance. You are still in the parental role to this step daughter and she is in a rough place in reference to relationships. You could really be a great influence on her and the grandchild-a valuable example of how respectful men treat people."
be honest and then be open. You never know where someones heart will take them.

Tell him what's in your heart with sincere words, even if he doesn't agree with you, you can still be friends. Just respect each other's opinions and decisions. If he doesn't talk with you any more after hearing your opinion, he's not worth to be call as a friend.

1. It sounds more like they are using each other.
2. People do not appreciate well-meaning advice on this kind of issue. Stay out of it if you want to continue being his friend.

Unless he asks for your advice or opinion, your best bet is to stay out of it. Let him experience whatever it is he feels he is lacking or feeling. Just be there for him if things come crashing down.

just tell him straight out and if he doesent care then that means he is whipped,if you keep insisting he is wrong he will only ignore you and yes it can defenatly ruin a relationship,he is blind right now and he doesent care what people say to him because he has fallen for her.he needs to actually realise his mistake,sooner or later he will know.you can only learn from them

She may indeed be using him however it may be genuine..
Woody Allen & his step-daughter seem to have worked out OK.
He needs to be strong enough not to give her everything
he has....

They aren't blood relative, it is okay. Why not go pick on gay people? Leave them alone, they are happy.
