I have irrational reactions to visual patterns and I don't know what causes it. Patterns such as lots of small circles or squares, for example, make me very nervous. I'm already on Prozac and that helps but it has started to bother me more lately. I see pictures or commercials with these type of patterns and it repulses me, then I can't get it out of my head, which really upsets me. Has anyone EVER heard of this? By the way, I'm 51 and I've had the problem since I was a teenager.

Maybe something happened to you long ago and can't remember but the patterns may just be a trigger to something that is buried real deep in your sub conscience. I don't like things out of order. It makes me nervous. I call that OCD. When I start obsessing about my environment, I'm actually trying to ward off anxiety. It's a very unpleasant feeling either way.

I don't have a name for it, but... When I see dots or something something that can visually be related to the way bees swarm around the hive or ants meandering about their hills, I get creeped out immensely. I get this slimey sort of feeling under my skin and have to get away. I think it's psychological for me because I can remember seeing this movie when I was five or so years old where this kid who was around the same age was completely covered head to to with ants. They moved all over him until he jumped in a pool. I think he died, though, because they were fire ants. Yeah, I can't stand ants at all because of that and the fact that if you see one there usually are more.

I had it once. When I saw circles next to each other, it would make me nervous or like make me feel awkward. I grew out of it. Bruises in the summer, like scabs, that looked like circles, or bumps, next to each other made me nervous.

You should probably drink water and eat. The patterns activate a side of your brain that releases your nervous fluid, I forgot what they are called. So just drink water and take a deep breath.
