It was stolen at school.
I was listneing to it on the bus. I remember putting it in my purse.
At the very end of second period, i checked to see what time it was, so i looked at my ipod and i kepf it in my purse the enire time.
then i went to lunch and i didnt bring my purse.
and during 4th period i didnt takle my purse to our ocker break. and i didnt take it out after second period. so i am about 99%% positive that it was stolen.
is there anyway that apple can track lost of stolen iPods with the serial number??

I also asked my gym coach in 6th period if I could go to the office and report it stolen, but he wouldnt let me. So now, i am increasing the risk of it being sold. Because i will have to wait until monday to report it stolen.

Apple CAN't trace serial number the best thing you can do, is to report it to the security at your school or a local police station and give them the serial number. they will give that serial code to pawn shops and they willnot be alowed to buy it from anyone.and hope it turns up somewhere

Not really, because you probably don't know your serial number unless you registered it, and apple won't know it either. Also, whoever stole it, if you're at a school, is probably either going to just use it for themselves or sell it to a friend, so it won't be an official transaction where serial number is registered. Unfortunately, all you can really do is report it and hope it either turns up or they catch the kid,

I'm not sure if they can track it down, but let's say they can; you will need to prove it was yours to begin with. They might want to check out the name on the regristration, assuming you registred the iPod, but they might be looking for a reciept or proof of purchase. Hope you get your iPod back soon.
