Most pepper have substantial stalks and don't need staking, but if you're growing giant variety of bell peppers and notice they don't have enough support, you can still stake after fruit sets. Stake to the ouside of the root area to avoid disturbing th plant.

Peppers dont typically need staking. It depends on the type and how tall they grow. If the pepper grows too big and is too weighty and is making the stalk lean or droop, then stake it. Use soft material or nylons to tie the plant to the stake. Use fertilizer to help the plant and make the pepper get bigger.

It is best to stake them but not necessarily. Tall plant hybrids or varieties definitely would need stakes, small plant varieties could make it without them. Stakes help to keep the plant erect and prevent branches to open, when the plant loads, and the sun penetrates inside the branches and burn the fruit. If you aren´t staking them, high density planting would help something with sunburn.

Bell peppers do need support when the fruit gets big. Cages now or stakes later.

By the time you read all of these answers, you could have already staked them. Yes, stake them, the plants are sturdy, but one good sideways rain storm will show you the truth.
