As far as residential water heaters go, A.O. Smith is as good as you can find. They may cost a few dollars more than some others but are well worth it for dependability and longevity. For more info from Answers click here:

Why don't you check into a tankless water heater. They do cost more, but will save you a ton of money in lower utility bills over their lifetime!!

State Industries makes the best available water heater.
However, they are recently bought out by AO Smith.

I hope they don't get AO Smith's bad habits.

No, get a tankless water heater. You can take a tax write off and you won't be heating tanks of cold water 24/7.

Water heaters are old technology.

Yes it is and i might also say that A.O.Smith sells top notch products and have a very good reputation...I have sold their products for years and have never had to warranty anything I sold....
