We have really been talking about moving basically too expinsive in Cali. and my parents (the whole family) are driving us nuts. I want to move to Colorado and my fiance liked the idea until he saw on the internet that 90% of the people there are white. He is hispanic and portiguese, so he is worried now that nobody will like him there! What can I tell him to get rid of this thought. After all I am white and I love him so much that we are getting married in a year!

tell him to give colorado a chance.tell him your love for one another is strong and you can make it.

I think it is smart for you to consider what ethnicities exist in a town/city before moving that. It can be tough to move to a town where there are not other people with similar backgrounds, especially for Hispanics who value friends/families/social events. Maybe try to factor other things in your decision so you do not have to feel so weighted by the race thing. Does the weather bother you? It can get really cold and snowy in much of Colorado. Does the city/area offer activities that you enjoy? Considering that Hispanics are the fastest growing race in the US, I would not be suprized if over time there are more and more in places like Colorado and much of the midwest.

Maybe you should wait until you are married to move. No need to be dragging him around the country to places he doesn't want to go until then.

Really, there is nothing you can SAY. Take him there, and let him meet people you know there. He will see how they treat him and then trust you if he is treated well.
