How deadly is deadly and with snakes it has been the topic of discussion on many occasions and the results vary by who is doing the study. Toxicology tests are done using the LD/50 mouse test... how many mice are killed by a certain volume of toxin.

For some people ANY SNAKE is deadly. For people that have done some research know there are "safe snakes", snakes that CAN hurt you, then the ones that can KILL.
The Russell's Viper from India kills thousands each year.
But to answer your question, (and you can place them in any order on the lethal list you wish).
Sea Snake, Krait, Cobra, Boomslang, Mamba, Saw-Scaled Viper, Vine Snake (Africa), Gaboon Viper, Puff Adder (Africa), most of the venomous snakes in Australia....
There are MANY MORE. Rattlesnakes, copperheads, Cottonmouth and Coral snake (all from the United States) are quite low on the lethal scale and kill very few people compared to most of the venomous snakes in the world.

The most toxic venom is mostly Australian snakes with the inland tipan or fierce snake being most venomous. The deadliest is the saw-scaled viper, I believe, in terms of people killed. The black momba may be the most dangerous if encountered.

the fierce snake and the inland taipan are the same snake. the inland is the most venomous drop for drop but you cant really say one snake is more dangerous. yea saw scaleds kill alot of people but they are also in high population areas so they come in contact with more people. and people there dont wear shoes and saw scaleds are very aggressive and quick to bite mine strikes prob 20 times at me in like 12 mins. there has never been a recorded death from a inland taipan they are in areas were not many people come in contact with them... so i guess the deadliest snake is the one your handling at the time.
