how do i turn file sharing off?

i am trying to down load sophos virus checker but every time i try it stops half way through installation and says you must turn off simple file sharing before this can download. i have turned off file sharing in my network setup wizard and my laptop is password protected, anyone help please?

what ever network has file sharing i.e. limewire you have to click each individual downloaded item with the right click on ur mouse and click
"stop sharing" for each song. then your good to go. also check the options button on the menu and click off file sharing!

What programs have you got on your pc that are sharing your files...lime-wire and such share your files but usually you have to configure them to do so...if it's one of these then select the tools or options when the program is open and stop it from file sharing
