hi,i put my 4 month old in her room at 3 months, much to my sadness! we went to sleep school and they said she was too big for her bassinet as she had her arms out the side! i also liked her in our room to easily breastfeed in the night and to check she was ok. The first night she was in her own room and in a cot she slept a lot longer than normal and continues to do so. It was more me not wanting her to go into her own room! But im glad she is now.You will also find your sleep at night much more satisfying

She can sleep in her room anytime. A friend of mine never even used a bassinet. The baby was in her room from day one. My son however was in his bassinet for about 8 weeks. Then he just moved around too much in his bassinet and it was too dangerous to keep him in it. Also check and see what the weight limit is for the bassinet. Some are only up to 15 lbs which my son was at by 4 months.
If you are nervous about it start by putting her in her own room for all naps, then after a few days of this for all naps and when you put her down at night (so then after the middle of the night feeding you can have her in the bassinet), then eventually after a week or two she will be in her room every time she sleeps:) Good Luck!

My son was sleeping in his own room from the minute we brought him home, but some parents prefer to have a bassinet in their bedroom to made middle of the night feedings more convenient. Go ahead and start weaning her from the bassinet; it may take a few days, but the sooner you start, the easier it will be later on. Good luck!

Now!!!! I am assuming her room is where you can hear her if she needs you. Things have come a long way sense I had mine. They are grown now. They both slept in their own rooms w/i a few days after coming home. Monitors are a great thing. If you don't have one look into that if you don't think you will hear her if she needs you. Your baby must be cramped in the bassinet or a very small baby. She needs her own bed.

Whenever you feel comfortable leaving her in her own room all night long, something else you should think about it that the longer she sleeps in your room the harder it is going to be to get her into her own room. My daughter is 3 1/2 and still sleeps in bed with me and I also have a 10 year old sister that just stopped sleeping in my parents bed with them, so it's all just up to you!

Whenever you are ready! My son slept in a cradle in our room for the first three weeks he was home but I wasn't getting any decent sleep because I woke up at every little noise. My husband convinced me to move him into his crib in his own room and I think we all slept better after that.
Just make sure you have a good monitor and things should be just fine!

Has she slept in her crib at all? If not, you may want to get her familiar with sleeping in there by putting here there for naps during the day for a few days before moving here in there full time at night.

Trust me, it will be harder for you than it will be for her :)

This is a hard one, isn't it? My daughter is 6 mo. old. She grew out of the cradle about a month ago. For me, its hard to have her sleep in her crib in another room because I am so used to having her near me. I usually bring her in with me at 5 or so, when she wants her bottle. Or some times before that!
Really, it is whenever you feel comfortable with it. You can start by having her take naps in the crib to get used to her room and her own surroundings. It took my daughter about two weeks of that, before she would sleep in her crib at night.

Totally up to you and your family situation.

My son moved into his room at 6 weeks and instantly slept longer. We check him on the monitor so we can hear him and occasionally he will find his way into our bed for early morning cuddles (usually by way of me or his father leaving him in there after he eats). I found all three of us slept better.

The official recommendation from AAP is 6 months I think (because of SIDS), but I really think every child and family situation is unique.

G/L!

I would say when she begins to sleep all night, or when she is too big for her bassinette.
Anytime you find to be comfortable to have her sleeping in her own room is the right time to do it.

She can sleep in her room now. Just make sure you have a good monitor so you can hear her when she needs you.
