Overall, considering all of the categories you listed combined: Notre Dame. Anyone who says otherwise is just expressing their own bias. No, I'm not a Notre Dame fan.

To the guy who lists OSU's titles in every single answer: We get it -- the Ohio State University has a longer winning tradition. I admit it. But nobody wins it every year. The Gators won it this year, and all the previous OSU titles won't change that. Probably someone else will win it next year. Maybe it will be Wake Forest or West Virginia. So what if the Gators have more SEC titles and more national championships than they do? As long as they win it within the rules, good for them.

And to one Michigan fan, if you still haven't figured out that the Gators deserved to play in the BCS Championship Game....

Tradition is what an lousy owner points to as reason to keep supporting the team while making bad personnel decisions. Unlike College, professional football is a business. A team with a great tradition, in the NFL-not college, is usually not very good. The Packers have a great tradition. NFC North - need I say more? I can't believe an idiot Steeler fan accused the Browns fans of being front runners. When were the Browns in front?:) Count on Steeler fans for comic relief. The Cleveland Browns have a great tradition and the team moved.:)

Tradition - Notre Dame I am not a fan, but everyone in the country knows Touchdown Jesus golden dome and the crappy little lepercaun
Fans - Texas A&M any team can root for a winner, but A&M fills the stadium even when they suck, now that is devotion.
Stadium - LSU no one wants to play there at night.
Coach - Oklahoma's Bob Stoops, did you see what he did this season with what he had? Then you can go all the way back to OU holding the record of most wins in a row with 47 under Bud Wilkerson and the the coaches in between except in the 90's.
Overall - Notre Dame has the most overall with great coaches, tradition, fans, and stadium.
I am not a fan of Notre Dame, but this is why they have their own tv deal.

Tradition: Michigan

Fans: Wisconsin (Badger fans travel very well and are very supportive and knowledgeable of the game; the Student Section ROCKS and the UW Marching Band is STILL Undefeated and National Champs!!!)

Stadium: Rose Bowl

Coach: (much as i can't stand them) Notre Dame
(Rockne...Parseghian was no slouch, either)
But hard to argue with The Bear, JoePa, a slew of
coaches in Michigan history, et.al)

Fight Song: "On Wisconsin" (Tennessee's "Rocky Top" is pretty good, too!!)

Mascot: USC Trojan on the horse

Live animal at game: Georgia's UGA (the bulldog), although some others are pretty neat, too--I just like the tradition he brings.

Helmet: The Motion "W" of Wisconsin

Small College: North Dakota State in the 1970's

Tiny College: St. Thomas (of Minn.)

The Ohio State University, Notre Dame, and USC. 3 of the winningest and most traditioned programs when it comes to college football their histories are filled to the brim with amazing combacks, huge letdowns, national championships, heisman winners, all americans, and all around greatness. These schools come back time after time even if they have a "down" season (which is still better than most schools best years) they bounce right back.

OSU, USC, Notre Dame Combined
22 National Championships
67 Conference Championships (despite Notre Dame not having a conference)
21 Heisman Winners
450 All-Americans

and as for the florida gator fans who are still giddy about their "2nd" national championships ill compare their "history" to Ohio states

Florida Football
7 SEC Championships
2 National Championships
2 Heisman Winners

Ohio State Football
31 Big 10 Championships
7 National Championships (4 consensus 3 Officially recognized)
7 Heisman winners (including the only 2 time winner Archie Griffin)
128 All Americans

(Basketball is even worse between florida and OSu if you wanna see those numebrs just ask.)
So as you can see the gators are but the blink of an eye compared to any of these programs.

University of Michigan EST. 1817

Michigan Stadium

Heisman winners

Super Bowl MVPS

ALL-TIME WINNINGEST PROGRAM

'HAIL TO THE VICTORS'

FORMER PRESIDENT GERALD FORD

BO SCHEBECHLER

HANDLED THEMSELVES EXTREMELY WELL AND STAYED OUT OF THE MEDIA WHEN A TEAM IN THE SOUTH CRIED THEMSELVES ALL THE WAY TO THE TITLE GAME.

THEY HAVE HIGH ACADEMIC STANDARDS

OTHER NICKNAMES:
QUARTERBACK U. TOM BRADY
CORNERBACK U. TY LAW, CHARLES WOODSON, MARLIN JACKSON, LEON HALL
OFFENSIVE LINEMAN U. HUTCHINSON, RUNYAN, BACKUS

WHOEVER SAID NOTRE DAME IS WAY TOO COMMERCIAL FOR THIS DISCUSSION. MICHIGAN TAUGHT THEM HOW TO PLAY FOOTBALL.

WHOEVER SAID FLORIDA IS AN IDIOT AND NEEDS TO LOOK UP THE DEFINITION FOR TRADITION. THEY ARE NOT EVEN IN THE TOP 20.

WHOEVER SAID USC HAS SOMEWHAT OF A POINT EXCEPT THEY ARE CONFUSING THE LAST 5 YEARS WITH GLORIOUS TRADITION. THEY WERE OUT OF THE PICTURE FOR MANY YEARS BEFORE THEY RESURFACED.

WHAT ABOUT ALABAMA OR NEBRASKA OR OKLAHOMA?

ND has the best Fans and traditions and a really fat coach.

Rutgers also has great history as they practically invented it.

I like the corn huskers stadium its huge and in the middle of nowhere where thousands of people in the middle of nowhere can go and watch a football game.

Best Coach is probably Alabama now with Nick Saban

Notre Dame. Most national titles, well known traditions, loyal fans that fill every stadium they play in and give top TV ratings to every game, at least one the best stadiums, and at least one of the best coaches. Historic coaches include Knute Rockne and Lou Holtz and Notre Dame is probably #1 coachwise historically.
Notice how SC measures itself by their (recent) history against Notre Dame. I do have to admit the Coliseum is probably the best stadium.
