The ultrasound tech said that my fluid has decreased I'm at 12.7 which is worrying me because 5 days prior to this appointment I was at 13.8 baby is about 5 lbs but my stomach is still measuring small for age. Does the loss of fluid mean that there is a premature rupture in my bag of water and could this be the cause of the baby being small? Help?

Oh m, i had the same problem. I was 34 weeks and i was measuring 32 and a half weeks at my ultrasound. The guessed my baby was 4 pounds 4 ounces. You just have to remember, the ultrasounds are an ESTIMATE. they can be off by a whole pound. If your doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be worried.

I also gained another 6 pounds since that ultrasound, and i don't look big at all. Im all baby. Just keep eating healthy and everything will be fine.

Good Luck and Congradulations.

All this "weighing baby via ultrasound" that I keep hearing about that is scaring women on y!answers is junk. That is an ESTIMATE only. NO ONE I know who has had these "measurements" taken were ever within 4 pounds of accuracy. Stop worrying so much - your body knows how to take care of itself, assuming you are eating right and exercising. Every body is different, and every baby is different. I am sure your baby is healthy, and you are worrying about nothing.

If the tech noticed a less amount of fluid, your doctor should of done tests to see if you're leaking amniotic fluid. I would suggest you call the doctor to clear things up.

possibly your infant is going to be slightly smaller. It replaced from each appointment with me. One week i replaced into 2 weeks forward..a million week i replaced right into a million week in the back of.. the two way a solid ultrasound might desire to tell how concerning to the large the baby is...
