Seriously though...
I remember hearing an explanation years ago that sounded theoretically possible, which I know time travel is, but I've forgotten.
It was something to do with travelling into space at faster than the speed of light, and then returning before something happened - or something...
There's got to be some trekkies out there who can help!

It's all about speed. The quicker you move the slower your surroundings become. the human body is not capable of sustaining enough speed to break the time barrier and even if we could we would return to our own "time" as soon as we stopped moving to perform an action. It's all visual. . . In theory.

There isn't a theory of time travel, wish there were. Lots of people may have pet theories, but that's not quite the same thing.

You are right, according to relativity time travel into the future should be theoretically possible - but you would have to travel at a speed so enormous (approaching that of light) that it's unlikely any human would ever survive the journey. And, of course, we have nothing like the technology to be able to do it.

There is no serious theory of time travel. Yes, it's true that theoretically, travelling faster than light would take one back in time, in the same way that travelling at near the speed of light would take one into the future--the faster you travel, the slower time passes for you with respect to the rest of the universe, so that travelling faster than light would make time go backwards for you. However, it is impossible to travel faster than light. Really. Unattainable.

There is no scientific theory of time travel that would take you back in time. It is not possible. If you travel near the speed of light, time slows down for you and when you return everyone will be older than you but that is not the same as travelling backwards in time.

Note that when you go the speed of light your mass equals infinity so your gravity is infinite and the entire universe gets sucked into you. I hate it when that happens

Im not too sure, but it was based largely on travelling faster than the speed of light around the world over and over again which would eventually turn back time!

Time travel is a science fiction reality.
If it really happened every era would be over run by every other era.
