The best way for any sludge to be removed from your engine is to use a good quality motor oil that has anti-sludge agents. When you are ready to do a oil change, drain the oil with the engine hot . You can use a engine flush, but I do not recommend it, it thins your motor oil to a dangerously thin viscosity.

Before you drain your oil I suggest you take these steps. Take your car for a 15 - 20 mile drive. When you come home open the hood turn the motor off and add a quart of Gunk Engine Cleaner in the motor, restart it and let it idol for 30 minutes.
*** Do not drive the car while the cleaner is in the motor.***
Drain the oil and change the filter. Add a quart of Rislone to your crankcase. Finish the fill counting the Rislone as the first quart finish the fill with either of the following motor oils: Havoline, Valvoline, Quaker State or Kendell.
If you like Pennsylvania oils, Brad Penn and Gulf are the only brands left. They are as good or a little better than the ones mentioned above.
Synthetics have the best detergent package of all, but your motor must not be leaking anywhere if your consider using it. Good Luck with your project.

I think it's called Engine Flush. You should find it at any auto parts store or just ask the guy behind the counter for it. It's a very light oil, like diesel fuel, and it supposedly loosens sludge, et cetera and flushes it out when you change the oil. It comes in a quart bottle. You are to warm the engine, pour the flush in, let it idle for five minutes (do NOT rev the engine) and drain it along with your old oil. You must not rev the engine with the flush in because the oil is now very thin and cannot dissipate the heat and pressures created when the engine revs at a high rpm. Just follow the directions and you should be OK.

Unless you have a specific sludge problem, you don't put anything in. Oil has detergents to keep sludge from building up, and regular oil changes flush the sludge out, unless you have gone to an oil change place that pumps the oil out the dipstick tube. A "hot oil change", draining out the bottom of the engine, will take out all the sludge you need removed.
