I'm a consultant for a company that sells purses and jewelry. I want to offer like 20% of the sale to organizations for charity. Like cheerleading, football, relay for life, etc. How do I got about finding people that want to do it?

I work in Direct Sales so I get paid on commission. I usually get 30% I am willing to donate 20% profit to charities which means I dont make that much. I like to do things good for the community. I am doing this out of the goodness of my heart, not for a tax deduction.

What an incredibly nice thing to do! I'm sure there are numerous charitable organizations that would love to work with you. I'm a bead store owner and jewelry designer and we have worked with numerous charities through out store.

The best way to approach it is to:

1. Make a list of potential charities you'd like to work with. Schools and churches are usually excellent choices.

2. Call the main office and ask who's in charge of fund raising. Try to get their name and number so you can speak with them directly.

3. Call and set up an appointment to present your idea to them.

4. When you meet, let them know how your products can help their organization raise much needed funds. Emphasize that your products are in high demand and are excellent sellers. You could suggest marketing them by:

1. Having a jewelry/purse show on a Saturday morning at the church or school to display your products.

2. If you have a website, let their members purchase directly from your website.with you donating 20% to their organization. They could put in a special code to show they are part of the charitable organization. The charity could advertise your website in their newsletter, bulletins etc.

3. Have a fundraising party in the evening where you display your products.

4. I'm sure there are more ways you can approach it, these are just a few suggestions.

This is an idea that should work well for you. I know I've written an article on this in the past on my blog at http://www.netbead.com . If you need more information on marketing jewelry, you can find it there.

Best of luck to you. :-)

Are you looking for organiztions to give this 20% to???
Every organization wants your 20%, just send a cheque.

Or are you looking for people to sell your goods for you?
or are you wanting to find people to buy your goods as individuals?

All I know, is if I was to buy your goods, I want the 20%, I don't want you giving the inflated price I have to pay, to charity so you can get a tax deduction.
