It is a great read but a little shocking in parts!

The runaway, Dangerous lady and Maura's game all by martina cole. They are not actually about mafia but about London's gang's. Generally set 60's through to today. Dangerous lady is fabulous.

"il giorno della civetta" by umberto sciascia tells about mafia in italy, what really is ecc..here is the most popular, i don't know if you can find it (in english, of course!) but is very serious..try to find it :D
