if it hurts you are either doing it wrong, or you have quite a tilt in your uterus--completely normal-like having a crooked nose.
hold the tampon with your thumb and middle finger, insert slowly into place, then use your forefinger to push the applicator inside. When you finish, you should be left holding the 2-part applicator with one tube inside of the other. Tampons are not the greatest, so really only use them when you have to, such as for swimming, proms etc. Toxic Shock Syndrome is a very real thing. Good luck!

After unwrapping the tampon & making a small 'hole' in the centre of the bottom with your middle finger (hold the tampon between your thumb & middle finger, at the bottom), take a relaxed position, preferably squating. With one hand part your labia, & insert the tampon as far as possible inside, with the string hanging out.
It takes a couple of tries to master it. Good luck.

First I would suggest you use PLAYTEX tampons, they are so much more comfortable. Plus I think they make some for younger teen girls. Using a smaller sized one at first would be best. Then just read the directions and try to relax. If it doesn't feel comfortable, it's not in right. Just keep trying.

Tampons are very bad for you. Well, they could be, they could give you a diesase called Toxic Shock Syndrom and it's not good.
I think on the boxes it says how to do so. I don't know because I wouldn't use them. I don't like pads either but it's better than being sick.

This is how i used to do it. I sit on the toilet, spread my legs and reach down and actually LOOK for the right hole. The you can put a bit of lubrication on the tip of the tampon and slide it in.
You might also be putting it in your urethra and not your vagina. Get a mirror to help you out. And only use the tampons that are right for your flow.
another thing you can try is to stand up, with one leg on the toilet and use a mirror to find your vagina and insert the tampon that way.
I also hate pads. They feel like diapers.

Ok just relax and take your time...it might be easier if you are standing up and place one foot on the tub to elevate your leg and slowly glide the tampon in...it might hurt a little because you never had anything go up there....but take you time and relax....OR I know this one is going to be really wierd...BUT sit infront on the mirror so you can see what you are doing...OK...Hope this helps.

DO NOT PUT VASELINE ON THE TIP! Vaseline harbors bacteria and that could cause an infection. Just stick with pads until you are able to use tampons

Read the directions and calm down. Try using Tampax pearl. They have a plastic applicator, I didn't like the cardboard ones.
Relax your body and muscles. Follow the directions.
Good luck! God Bless

Everything I could say has already been mentioned, but I can say this. Don't squat. Your muscles tense up and then it becomes impossible to insert it.
