They are even in my wall, I think. I hear scratching in it under a window. I don't want to kill them, I just want them to live outside.

Skinks eat insects (bugs for most people) and are no threat to humans, unless you are using them for ear jewelry. From what I remember, an adult Five-lined Skink is about 7 inches when full grown. Personally, I would ignore them but you have some concern about them being in the wall. Try finding the entry and install some moth balls and after a few days plug it up (the moth balls will make the skink home an undesirable place to live).

These links are for the folks that think Skink is SKUNK ...

I hate to say this, but you probably have something else in those walls that are attracting the skinks. You might consider calling a pest control company to get rid of the bugs that the skinks are eating. Some of them would probably die if you do that, but, once the food supply is gone, they'll move on.

Another, not so attractive option, is to get a king snake and toss it under your house (if you have a crawlspace). One snake will get rid of all of your skinks. It sounds bad, but I have lived with a snake under my house for a number of years. They are very quiet and they don't come into areas where there is regular human activity.

The bottom line is, you either get rid of the things that the skinks like, or you add something that the skinks don't like.

Good luck!

I do believe you mean SKINKS! So, I'll stick with that. I used to own one so I know what you are referring to. I would say to try my best to catch them & either place them in a new location far from your home or maybe check with a local pet store that may take them. They make great pets or at least the Monkey tail skink I had was!!! Good luck~

try to catch as many as you can (put them in a box) and replace them in an area far away

Do you mean skunks? If you do, call your local animal control agency or humane society.
