Her newborn son Turner Jack. Do you like that name? My family is thinking about calling him T.J. for short, so he won't get teased. You know, like 'turner-round' or 'page-turner' or something like that.

Please no rude comments, just your opinion!

Vote yay or nay and why.

Thanks!

I think it's a nice name. Every child will be teased for some reason at some point in time. I think he will probably go to school with other children whose names were traditionally surnames but have found their way into popular first names like Hunter, Jackson, Holden, Carter etc. He will probably end up eith a nickname at some point in time, and TJ is a nice one. Let your aunt decide what she wants him called. Obviously she likes Turner or she wouldn't have named him that.

I think, as a child, T.J. would be cute for a name, but as he grows older, Turner is a fine name for a business man or whatever he ends up being. I think Turner Jack on a resume would look very professional. Though I can't see calling a 2 or 3 year old Turner as much as TJ...

Okay, first thought i had was pirates of the caribbean! (Jack Sparrow, William Turner) but i am weird like that. So, naturally, i think its a pretty cool name :)

I would however go with Jack instead of TJ. I really really like the name Jack. I am not too fond of initials as names, cause it kind of in a way takes away their identity..... just a 2 letter name... idk, that is just my opinion!!!! And that's just if you insist on nick naming him. Personally, I dont think Turner is a bad name at all! w/ people giving their kids more and more unique names, I doubt he will get teased for his. I think it's cute. i honestly think kids would be able to come up w/ worse jokes for TJ than for Turner.......

Nay, I do not like the name that much but I think if you call him TJ he will not be teased there is a kid named Turner in my school and he is not teased. I like TJ though sounds cool.

I agree. T.J. is better than Turner. Reminds me of a city close to my hometown.

I think Turner is a nice name for a boy, no need for a nickname.

I don't think his given name is bad, and TJ is o.k. too. I wouldn't worry too much about people calling him names like the ones you mention because by the time they do it will probably be in middle school or high school and it will probably be his buddies calling him names in a friendly name. You might want to ask your aunt if it is o.k. to call him TJ. It has been my experience that some people don't want nicknames used for their children.
