Number 2. There is a direct relationship between the speed and the amount of shift. More shift = more speed.

if they were all blue shifted,they'd all be rushing toward us,,,,,,look at orion constellation,,,,,,,,,,,invert image off hubble tscp........looks like a nasty animal rushing towards us,,,,it aint blue shifted tho
