When you are dealing with an ex-spouse who resents your happiness and does everything possible to sabotage the child's relationship with the new member of the family, how do you respond?

Your present wife might try to make a kind of friendly way with your ex, I mean some friendly movements toward to her, not much, just some diplomatic way to handle this situation...
It's just much easier for your wife to do because she is happy right now, than for some person who is unhappy and feel kind of abounded by her own children.

Do whatever you need to to keep your current marriage happy. Your ex is an ex for a reason. Her opinion shouldn't have any affect on you.

That happened to me. His ex was terrible to me, I wish my husband had more balls to stand up to her and support me. He would just say " Well that is just the way she is". Just make sure that you support your now wife and stand up for her.and her relationship with your children. Good Luck. I went through this for 10 years.

thats a common problem with some mothers and fathers. sad but true. you would think she would be happy that her babies are happy. i would be.
just tell the ex its not a compition... and its best for the children that they like their step mom -vs- dont.
tell her to put the kids feelings first.

All you need to do is ask yourself if your happy? It doesn't matter what she thinks or what she likes it's your relationship not her's. She had that chance once and things couldn't work don't let her ruin this chance you now have!
