how many and what degree's do you need to become an author?

i want to become an author and i dont know. I tried to look it up on the internet and i couldnt find ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

You do not need any special education level. You do need to know how to write, so most authors have a college degree in English or literature but it is not required.

Lulu: all you need is a story to tell and the ability to tell it. You don't need a degree...although knowing how to put words together in complete sentences helps. Read lots of books...that helps, too! When you think you have a finished manuscript, go to the Writers' Digest website and research places to market it. Good luck.

You just need to author something that other people want to read. No degree of any kind is required.

All you need is a good imagine and a way of telling a story and your done. No educational requirements, write on a computer, its easier to edit and spell check.
