Sorry, law isn't going to work. The Balfour declaration in 1918 by the Brits basically allowed these guys to come in and take land in the TransJordan/Palestine. The Palestinians, while truly the native people of the area, really have no legal claim. It's a totally f-ed up situation, and I can see why Palestinians are angry enough to resort to terrorism. That being said, the terrorism isn't working, and it is in the interests of both sides to stop the violence, and give the Palestinians a state beyond the 1967 border.
Kim Y, if you really believe what you say then you really don't know God, nor do you understand history at all. The jews were scattered by the Diaspora, and the Palestinians are basically the ammonites, moabites, etc. who have lived there continuously for thousands of years. Any God worth worshipping doesn't limit His love to one small tribe of people. If you really believe He does, then you are simply a racist misusing religion to support your belief system.
By the way, the correct term is anti-Semitic, not anti-semantic. Furthermore, both Sephardic jews (not Ashkenaz jews) and Palestinians are Semitic people. Can I beam you into a history class?

If people would accept reality - the Jews have a right to exist and live in peace- then Israel would probably withdraw from occupied territories. They have a right to protect their families and infrastructure. It would seem to me that there really isn't much else for them to gain from the situation. The Palestinians are poor and don't seem to have much to offer although admittedly I don't know much about their society. They too have a right to self determination although there doesn't seem to be too much infrastructure in their society.
I don't understand why the violence continues in the Mideast. Murder and mayhem is not an attractive lifestyle and the rest of the world should boycott any products from these areas until a lasting peace ensues. It won't be easy as a lot of forgiving will have to occur. Their own peoples will have to reject their own radical leaders in favor of a detente and mutual respect and cooperation. It seems to me that there exists a fear of the future and new ways of doing thing. People fall back on the way it has always been done. Look what that has accomplished.- poverty, misery and destruction. The rest of the world would invest in their societies but not at such a high risk.

First of all, Palestine is not, and never has been, an internationally recognized state. Israel owns the land the palestinians occupy and they provide goods and services to them as long as the plaestinians are not putting men, women, and children with bombs on their backs onto buses and into cafes and clubs. Here is my question to you. Why would palestinians think they are due some sort of international recognition when they elect known global terrorist into government seats? Did they think that by making the Hamas flag the palestinian flag the Israelis would back off due to fear? Or, would the Israelis increase their patrols, become more strict, and bolster defenses.

maybe if palestine recognized israel like the rest of the world and stopped suicide killings israel would be more inclined to move back to pre 1967 borders. remember, those lands would not have been "occupied" if the surrounding arab countries had not been planning to invade. israel can not be forced just as the palestinians can't be forced to lay down arms. but in the end, who wins anyway. is seventy years not enough. and as fa as being above the law, seems like palestine-hamas are playing the game quite well.

When the U.N. partitioned Palestine they gave Israel a small part. The surrounding countries took the rest. That is why there is nothing left of Palestine today, not because Israel is occupying it. All of the Arab countries attacked Israel after the U.N. vote. This war and the following wars are what determines the boundaries today.

Get a big army and make them leave. Israel breaks no laws recognized by it's government maintaining a presence in Palestinian infested territories.

Internationl pressure can stop Israel from being above the international law. In another language: U.S. A great pressure must be put on Israel by the international community to stop it from breaking law and stepping on Human Rights. U.S always uses Veto right to prevent anybody from condemning Israel, so who can we punish Israel if we cannot even condemn it?!
By the way, I -as a Palestinian- think that it's semi-impossible to force Israel to withdraw from the West Bank because Israel has benn building huge settlements in the West Bank in the last 40 years and a great effort was done by Israel to settle in the West Bank.

Maybe you should move over to Palestine and figure it out. AND the land does not - nor has it ever - belonged rightfully to the Palestinians. The land is Israeli land - and the Palestinians have NO right to it whatsoever.
Yeah - Scotty - I agree, Beam him up.

You must be Anti-Semantic - very hateful toward the Jewish people and their rightful, God-given land and existence.
Remember this: The Palestinian people were originally the "outcasts" of the Arab nations, and dumped in the lands that were returned rightfully to the Israeli people. The Palestinians were the interlopers, and it's only by the grace of Israel do they have any land by which to call home.
You need to study some history, DC guy!

Well allow UN to actually do its job ...Right now the UN is just a political tool who does the job for some strong countries and it has absolutely no power when it comes to enforcing its resolutions...
Unfortunately as long as US keeps supporting Israel, there is no chance to end the occupation and Israel will keep acting like it's above any law...
