I'd rather be good, because truly good people are virtuous and that is a hard thing to be.

Better is a relative term because it depends on something else to describe it.

If I was better than Hitler, for instance, I wouldn't have to be that great.

Two teaspoons of Corona is better than one teaspoon of Corona, but that little bit wouldn't satisfy my thirst!

Good is the best.

I would love to be better than good. Of course, this suggests that you can be better than good, and in some instances I am not completely sure that this idea is applicable (like when it comes to the good of a human being. If you are good, then you are perfectly good, and can not be better, for there is no better for a human, since the "good" is the ultimate good).
