I am trying to plan our trip to London. Is it best to use a travel agent or try to plan and book everything yourself? What are the best websites to use if you do it yourself?

Thanks!

I always book everything myself.

www.expedia.com

www.priceline.com

www.travelocity.com

These are all trust worthy sites that you can book your hotel, car rental, and flight from!

I think it's best to do it on your own. There are many free online sites that give you info and help. It all depends, do you have that extra cash to afford the luxury of having someone else do it? Also will they be there when things go wrong?

http://www.nomadwannabe.com has a no booking fee for hostels.

Many of the major carriers offer vacation packages that you can do online, such as British Airways and American to name a few - you can check prices and then shop around on your own and see if its cheaper.
