I am considering a move to either Washington state (WA), Ohio, Vermont or Minnesota. I realise Minnesota is a cold place but cold doesn't really bother me. If I want surf and sand I'll vacation in California or Florida. This is a 3 year career related decision and I'd like some advice on the best state in terms of quality of life for a 30-something single guy. Thanks!

I live in Minnesota and have never visited WA or VT. But I have been to and through Ohio many many times.....It all depends on where you are moving to. If you love outdoors and winter, you would love Minnesota. Even in the metro area, great parks and lakes for outdoor activities and lots to do in summer months all over the state. It truly is a beautiful state as far as scenery.....Young professionals seem to love it here. I have lived here 18 yrs now and I have had enough of cold and winter.

I would say Vermont, because I have seen so many pictures from there I would have to visit there first before I decided if I was going to stay there for 3 years or not. The reason I pick Vermont would if you going to be cold might as well enjoy to skiing

Hi there! My top picks for you would be California, but CALI is too expensive when you live. Florida SUCKS because of lots insects, wages are terrible and some native or yankee @$$ people there are rude! Minnesota is cool also! If you live in Washington state that would be great because theres a lot of enviromental and computer jobs but its always getting wet and cold there because it always rain...

Minnesota, aside from the natural wonders of the state and friendly, nice people... the girls there really know how to keep a guy warm in the winter.

Wow, those are your choices? Sorry dude.

I'd say Washington state, it's at least got something of a youth culture. Vermont could be OK, but too cold and remote; good if your a big fan of maple syrup.
Ohio and Minnesota? WTF? Why would you even consider that?

Washington sounds the best! 1 of my good friends just moved there a month ago and she loves it! She found a good job asap and says the people are hella cool!

Try VT. It's so different from the other 3!! I think it's great to move out of our "comfort zones" and try doing different things from time to time! :)
