You will probably first notice when she started dripping blood. (Not a lot, just droplets) on the floor If she is light coloured, you will notice it on her tail or the backs of her legs, but it won't be so noticeable on her if she's dark. Her vulva will start to swell gradually too. You may also notice a change in her behaviour, she may be moody, grumpy, clingy, disobedient - or she may not!! All dogs are different. The main thing to look out for is the blood - try to get her sleeping on a light coloured bed & you'll notice the blood in the morning when she gets up - it will only be spotting. After a week to 10 days, the blood flow will change colour to a sort of straw colour & may lessen or appear to stop all together. This is when she is most likely to be ready to mate & the time when you must keep her away from all male dogs. She may be willing to mate for up to a week & to be on the safe side you need to keep her away from dogs for another week at least (up to 28 days altogether)
B1tches vary greatly in the amount of discharge they have, some are scrupulously clean & never leave a trace, most b1tches on their 1st season aren't very good at cleaning up but the usually get the idea!

It's easy, you should know when all the male dogs try to break your fence down to get to her or (my friend says) watch out for a white goo that comes out the female dogs vagina sorry but that's where it comes from !!!!!
